A prayer vigil

On May, 10, the Betharram religious and laity of the community of Pau gathered for a prayer vigil around the relics of Saint Michael Garicoits.

On May, 10, the Betharram religious and laity of the community of Pau gathered for a prayer vigil around the relics of Saint Michael Garicoits.

The simple and beautiful vigil was held in the Sacred Heart chapel whose construction was partly financed by Fr François- Arthur de Bailliencourt, one of Saint Michael’s disciples.

Opened by the song “Père me voici” (by Fr Mansanné), the prayer vigil focused on the founding text (the Manifesto) that was proclaimed in five parts each time followed by the refrain “Père me voici”.

Then, after the proclamation of the Gospel of Saint Michael’s Mass, all the religious present (among them Fr Gaspar Fernandez, the Superior General) gathered around the relics and recited the prayer said by Fr Etchecopar on the tomb of Saint Michael.

After the prayer, one by one, in procession, all came to pay tribute to the relics, while the choir chanted some texts dear to Saint Michael Garicoits.

Once again Michael showed his friends the way towards God.
