Thailand - Sampran
On May 24-25, the vicariate of Thailand accepted the invitation of Mrg. Panya Kritcharoen, Bishop of Ratchaburi, to take care of Fatima Parish, in the south west of Thailand, not far from the Myanmar border, 2 hours journey from Sampran.
Most of the Parishioners are Karen, who emigrated from Myanmar and are coming from the refugee camps. Among them there are 250 Christians. For the time being, Fr Jiraphat, superior of the Garicoïts house of formation, is in charge of this Parish. He is helped by Br Panuphan, the new philosophy student. They have met the catechists and some people to gather some basic information about the new mission. The Vicariate is planning to take the necessary steps to make of this Parish a new Betharram mission post in the Diocese of Ratchaburi. Let us pray for this new project of the Thai Vicariate.
