Holy Land - Jerusalem
In the late afternoon of December 25, Father Pietro Felet was given the title of "archpriest" by Archbishop Raphael Minassian, Armenian and Eastern Europe Catholic Archbishop as a token of gratitude for the services rendered.
The ceremony took place in the Armenian Catholic Church of Jerusalem (old city).
The ceremony was attended by Fr Roberto Camilotti, the Parish Priest of Fr Pietro Felets native parish, by Fr. Henri Lamasse (Superior of the community of Bethlehem and Nazareth) and by a small group of people.
After the profession of faith and the reading of two Scripture passages, the Archbishop asked the two candidates to lay their hands on the Cross, this gesture being the "symbol of teaching Christian doctrine" ... "through more effective words."
After this sign, the Archbishop handed the pectoral cross and the ring to the candidates. A short celebration party ended this meaningful event.
Here are some "snapshots" from the ceremony. We extend to Fr Pietro our best congratulations for the award, in recognition of a selfless service over many years in the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
