Argentina - Adrogué
From October 26 to October 28, a group of lay people held their annual gathering in Villa Bétharram at Adrogué (Argentina), to share their experience and their faith with the Betharram religious.
On Friday, October 26th they kicked off the meeting with some action songs led by Fr Giancarlo Monzani: each participant could share his experience and his feelings. The day came to an end in the Chapel where everybody offered his life to the Sacred Heart.
On Saturday the theme was prayer of availability: the starting point was the witnesses of Miriam, Nestor and Paul; a meditation on prayer by Fr Gaspar followed. Then each one could share his own experience and see how God is present in his prayer and how each one is called to give his response in different circumstances.
On Sunday, the group worked on the letter of Card Bergoglio (Bishop of Buenos Aires) on the Year of Faith, in which he urges to dare cross the threshold of faith. Then the group along with their family members took part in the Eucharist. A delicious asado wound up the event.
Adding to that, the group wanted to experience the Lectio Divina following the Ignatian method, guided by Maria Eugenia.
It did not come as a surprise to live Gods experience rich in love and communion, inviting us to spread the immensity of charity within the limits of our position. What follows is the witness of a participant who came for the first time to the FALABE (FAmilia LAical BEtharramita, Betharramite Lay Association). «Quite often we live without knowing that there are nice people out there When we happen to meet them we are very happy! This is the witness of a leader of a group from Adrogué who gave a helping hand in different ways and took care of the children; «Hi, Gaby, I want to thank you for everything; let me tell you that for the children and for ourselves it was an enriching experience, which will turn out to be a blessing in their life! Fr Giancarlo: «Gaby, I am quite happy about the experience in Villa Betharram last week-end. On Friday, I came with a bit of apprehension. But little by little it disappeared. I think that God was with us, encouraging us to go deep into ourselves and find him there, because he likes to play hide and seek with us. And I feel that all the brothers found him too. Can you remember how seriously they took part in different activities? And how they were able to see their own personal history as a history of salvation? And how they prayed, reflected and shared? I told everybody and I repeat it once again that I feel like being a Father. It is great. It goes beyond me, of course, because everything belongs to God, but I have the impression that myself I was generated to faith.
