Thailand - Ba-Pan-Poi

Fr. Jiraphat, the formator, was keen that this retreat should bring the Brothers back to their roots so some of the daily morning sharing was given by two of the elderly villagers.<br />He also  showed the brothers how to make their own ‘hermitage’ from straw collected from the rice field, so each brother had his own ‘house’. The 40 inhabitants of this small village of 12 houses gave our brothers all the support they needed and attended some of their prayer sessions. Much time was given to silence in this beautiful place.<br />The brothers all appreciated the simplicity of the experience,  most of all the space to hear the word of the Lord without distractions.  Could this simple style be a pattern for retreats elsewhere in the family of Betharram?<br /><br />
