Rome - Generalate House
On January 26th , at the opening of the Council of the Congregation, was officially inaugurated the renovated chapel of the Generalate.
During the Morning Prayer, Fr. Gaspar Fernandez, superior general, blessed the altar and the tabernacle in the presence of regional superiors (except Fr. Austin Hughes, held back in England due to health reasons), members of the commission of rule of life and of the community. The project as whole and the two masterpieces of the oratory (the altar and tabernacle) are the work of Fr. Francesco Radaelli. The altar made of glass lets the light shine through the stained glass, as the refracted rays of the sacrifice of Christ and the glory of God; underneath, it contains the relics of St. Michael Garicoits, the founder of our congregation. The Mosaic of the tabernacle shows the logo of the congregation surrounded by beautiful branch, and the interior, golden leaf, serves as a backdrop to the Blessed Sacrament exposed to the view (and worship) for a few moments yesterday morning. After the sober and dignified ceremony, sign of the mystery of Holy Communion, Religious resumed their work.
