Jordan - Amman
On May 2nd , the Betharram Community of Zerqa and Fr Enrico Frigerio, General Vicar of the Congregation , along with Catholic Clergy of Jordan, met the Apostolic Nuncio of Jordan and Iraq, in the Bishops House in Amman.
Mgr Giorgio Lingua, talked about the political situation in Iraq, which, among many difficulties is trying to find its way to normalcy. In this context, the Christians, at least the few left in Iraq, are struggling to see their rights recognised. Though he has been Nuncio in this area of the Middle East only for 5 months, the words of Mgr Lingua arose interest among the audience, particularly in Fr Enrico, the only one not belonging to the Jordan Clergy and who is staying in Zarqa for a few days, before reaching Bethlehem for the General Chapter. Fr Elie Kurzum, of the Betharramite Community of Zerqa, took the opportunity to take Fr Enrico to Mount Nebo and Madaba, two very meaningful biblical places.
