Italy - Monteporzio Catone
On Sunday, March 13th the betharramite community of Villa del Pino celebrated the 19th anniversary of the opening of the Family House and the foundation of the Association Il Mosaico, in the Parish Church of Monteporzio Catone (Roma).
Since 1992, the Community of Villa del Pino has been giving a home, assistance, care and affection to AIDS patients.
During the concelebration, presided over by the Vicar General, Fr Enrico Frigerio, Fr Mario Longoni, superior of the community, explained the meaning of this celebration.: todays society is called to move from being a rancorous society to a virtuous one ... The conflict between grudge and care requires to deal with the grudge caused by fear and uncertainty and to work towards welcoming talking, opening, communicating and then looking for cooperation and cultivating friendship». During the celebration one member of the Association called out all the names of those who passed form the Family House to the Fathers House in these 19 years. For each one of them a candle was lit.
This was a very suitable message for the beginning of the Lenten Season. Our gratitude to the community, to the staff, to the volunteers and to the inmates of the Villa del Pino: they keep the message of Saint Michael alive today.
