Italy - Lissone
On September 17-18, the Betharram Lay Assocites of the Vicariate of Italy gathered in Lissone for their 4th National Gathering.
On Saturday afternoon the journalist, Aldo Maria Valli, Vatican Correspondent for RAI 1 (National TV Channel), gave a talk on the meaning of the lay vocation in the Church, starting from some Church Documents and mainly from his experience as a journalist called to carry out his job in an environment where the headlong rush towards the appearing and to the front page leaves hardly any space to the Christian values. All appreciated the words of Aldo Maria Valli who, thanks to his personal witness as a Christian, could touch the heart of the people present and arise lively interest in them.
On Sunday morning a young parishioner explained to the group the meaning of the stained glass windows of the Parish Church: a biblical journey through our salvation history.
Later on the Lay Associates had a meeting in order to plan their annual activities and then they joined the Parish Mass at 11.30.
The Parish of the Sacred Heart in Lissone welcomed with opened arms this group and went out of their way to make this meeting a success.
