India - Hojai
On October 26th the Betharram Fathers and Brothers started their mission in Hojai, (Assam, Northeast India) with the celebration of Divali (Feast of light).
The church in Hojai celebrated the Hindu feast of Divali with a mass of Christ the Light of the World early this morning. Fr.Thomas Mattathilany welcomed Fr.Subesh and Fr.Wilfred on behalf of the Archbishop of Guwahati. From today onwards this mission of Christ the Redeemer (Muktidata) is in the hands of the family of Betharram. Our three novices Edwin, Vino and Justin joined the congregation of children from the boarding house, lay people and Sisters in praising the Lord on this happy day. In the weeks to come our Novices will venture into the tribal villages, guided by the Sisters and C.M. Fathers who have mission posts not too far away. We join in thanksgiving and prayer asking Gods support for Fr.Subesh.
