Central Africa - Bouar

On February 18th-20th was held the 2nd edition of the Bouar Agricultural Exhibition, organized by Caritas, the NGO Mercy Corps and Jiango Be Africa.

More than 80 associations of farmers and a dozen of stockbreeders were participating in the agricultural show, opened by officials (Mayor, Prefect, Bishop, Minister for Rural Development and Trade). Among the exhibitors a pride of place was given to Jiango Be Africa (put your heart in Africa, in the local language), Italian Charity Association linked to Fr. Beniamino Gusmeroli,SCJ (parish priest of Fatima). In a debate, the farmers addressed the public officials on the challenges associated with lack of infrastructure and administrative disruptions. Another highlight was the inauguration of the Food Bank funded by Jiango Be Africa, and the prize award of for the best stands. Appointment was made for next year to continue this basic work: promoting the production and the peasants condition, for the wellbeing of people and development of Central Africa.
