England - Olton

On 14th January 2011, the Sacred Heart Community celebrated 30 years of the arrival of Betharram Fathers and Brothers to the Olton Friary.

The Capuchin Friars left Olton Friary on 10th January 1981 since then Friary became a formation house of Betharram in UK. A votive Mass of the Sacred Heart was celebrated by Fr. Edward Simpson SCJ, the Parish Priest for the last 30 years on the occasion, after the thanksgiving Mass Friary parishioners were invited to the hall for tea and coffee. Br. Andrew Ferris SCJ, Superior of the Community expressed heartfelt thanks to all those who gathered for their support and love towards the Fathers and Brothers of Betharram. Mr. Louis Loughran spoke on the behalf of Friary parishioners and appreciated our presence and our mission here at the Friary Parish.
