On 28 and 29 December some special events took place in the Betharramite mission in Maepon area.

On January 4-5, the Karen Tribe of the Chiang Mai Diocese celebrated the 60th  anniversary (1952-2012) of their evangelisation in the church of the Assumption at Maepon.

The Parish of Mauloklo, founded by Betharramite missionaries and now run by a diocesan priest, Fr Tun, celebrated the Golden Jubilee on December, 29th.

On July 9th  the father of Fr Viravit scj died, in Thailand.

On the evening of November 15th Mrs Rosa Nauboon, 49 years old, sister of Fr Suthon of the MaePon community, died after 2 years of illness.

On November 21st after paying a visit to the communities in Chieng Mai, Fr. Austin, Regional Superior together with Fr.Biju, Superior of the Indian Vicariate, visited the formation house at Sampran. They spent a few days and met some brothers personally.

On 26th January 2012, in the Betharram community, Fr. Jeerapaht scj (Superior of Ban bétharram,  Sampran) and Fr. Boonlert (Priest of Chiang Mai diocese) organised the 25th Anniversary of Mons. Joseph Sangval Surasarang who presided over the celebration.

On March 4th , as part of the pastoral ministry of our brothers, the Sampran community played host to some African young people, members of Thailand Football Club.

On March14th the Community Ban Garicoits Sampran (Thailand) was happy to welcome Fr.Austin (Superior of the Blessed Miriam Region) and Fr. Graziano (the secretary-bursar general) on the occasion of their visit to Thailand.

On May 24-25, the vicariate of Thailand accepted the invitation of Mrg. Panya Kritcharoen, Bishop of Ratchaburi, to take care of Fatima Parish, in the south west of Thailand, not far from the Myanmar border,  2 hours’ journey from Sampran.
