Sunday, May 26 the BetharrAmici [Betharram Friends] gathered in Montemurlo to talk about the life and vocation of St. Michael Garicoïts and to define in detail the organization of the World Youth Day in Rio de Janeiro.

On 30 July, the Betharramite community on a mission in the diocese of Serrinha (Bahia, Brazil), left the "Good Shepherd" parish to take on the mission of the parish of "Nossa Senhora da Conceição" which is composed of two municipalities (Gavião and Nova Fátima) and a district (Pereira).

The Missionary Community of Betharram in Uruguay moves into a new residence. The religious, Fr Angelo Recalcati SCJ (Superior), Fr Eder Chaves Gonçalves SCJ (Parish Administrator) and Br Victor Torales SCJ (Bursar), joyfully celebrated with the local community, the beginning of a new phase of their ministry in the Diocese of Tacuarembo-Rivera.

On March 1, the Vicariate of Brazil started a new missionary experience in Serrinha, in the northeast of Brazil.

On March, 26, Fr Wilfrd Pereppadan scj made the first contact with the new parish Mgr. Patrick McKinney bishop of Nottingham entrusted to the English Vicariate.

Friday, March 6, during a beautiful Eucharistic celebration presided by Mgr. Ignacio Gogorza, betharramite Bishop Emeritus, and concelebrated by Fr Osmar Caceres formator of the postulants, by Father Javier Irala, Regional Vicar for Paraguay and by Frs  Raúl and Fulgencio,  three new postulants were officially welcomed into the formation house, along with  four aspirants hailing from different parts of Paraguay.

On Saturday 16 December, the new authorities of the FVD Group took office in the Parish Church of San José (Asunción, Paraguay) for a period of 2 years.

On 22 June, with the birth of the little Jeanette, the inauguration of the new surgical unit took place at the dispensary of Niem (Central African Republic).
