Don’t they say everywhere: “Isn’t he a lucky man to be so full of self-confidence! Everything seems easier for him!” What can we say about the man who has confidence in his God? He is jubilant and can lift mountains! “To believe is to have confidence” the Swiss Theologian Karl Barth used to say.

At the age of a PHOTO-MONTAGE the NEF has taken the bold decision to imagine or rather to reconstruct a narratio by our Founder. The passages in his correspondence are few and far between where St Michael gives us some intimate impressions of his own life story. But when it comes to Cross and temptations, he openly shares his feelings. Here then is a “Narratio fidei” by Father Garicoits with the complicity (yet without the consent) of his biographer, Father Basilide Bourdenne.

A strong, pleasant but time-limited emotion, a feeling of fullness... is joy perhaps a gift just occasionally received? Or a state of mind made of satisfaction and gratitude that we are called to foster all the time? “Always be joyful in the Lord” this is how St Paul would urge the Philippians in his letter... while he himself was confined in the jails of Rome.

On Friday, April 22, during Easter week, the Sanctuaries of Betharram welcomed the National Pilgrimage of the "blind", made up of about 180 people, who spent the whole day in Betharram.

This month the international formation session for the perpetual profession is underway. The 2017 General Chapter reminded us: “The Betharramite is convinced that the face of Jesus is to be contemplated in the Word of God and on the face of all those who are around us and towards whom we go. Thanks to the congregation, our vision has become more international and our cultural differences enrich us.” (Acts of XXVIIth General Chapter n. 12).
