Listening to Saint Michael...
Cachica Notebook 10
It was a question of distinguishing the true Church from that which is not; but sanctity is one of her characteristics. The Church, no doubt, experiences in her heart many miseries, not only from the simple faithful, but also from priests, which make her blush, and disgrace her by their disorderly conduct. And though the church is not as old as the world itself, it should have ceased to exist long ago! But because it is as divine as its teacher, the apostasies of once-sure pillars, the most virulent attacks on the part of its adversaries, only make it more unshakeable. Amazing! That which, according to human wisdom, should have brought her to ruin, has made her more credible, and gained new disciples.
