First pilgrimage of novices to holy places
From Tuesday 2 to Saturday 6 May, after having finished the first part of the Ignatian retreat, the novices of the interregional novitiate "St. Joseph", accompanied by their Master Fr. Stervin Selvadass SCJ and Fr. Pietro Felet SCJ, Regional Vicar in the Holy Land (who acted as a guide), they went to visit some holy places.
First of all they visited for the first time the place of Elijah’s sacrifice on Mount Carmel. Then, after visiting the place of Elijah’s sacrifice, the novices went to Carmel where the Carmelite order was founded. After visiting the monastery of Mount Carmel, it was the turn of the visit to Ibillin, birthplace of Saint Mary of Jesus Crucified.
On the second day, the novices saw the Redemptoris Mater (major seminary of the Neo-Catechumen's movement), Capernaum and all its surroundings on the theme "The Kingdom of God’'.
The third day of our pilgrimage had as its theme the mystery of the Incarnation and took place in the city of Nazareth.
On the fourth day, we went to visit Cana of Galilee, Magdala, Tiberias and Mount Tabor.
On the fifth day, the group went from Jericho to the Mount of Temptation.
We had a great joy in our hearts and a very ardent desire to discover the footsteps of our Lord Jesus Christ. It was a time of meditation and contemplation.
