Final days and closing of the XXVIII General Chapter
June 27 and 28 were characterized by an intense work in order to approve the latest motions and to make some amendments to the Rule of Life.
The morning of June 28 was fully dedicated to the reading and approval of the Acts which contain the decisions and motions of the Chapter's work and which will then be delivered to all the religious.
At the end of this important step, Fr. Gustavo, Superior General and President of the Chapter Assembly, declared that the XXVIII General Chapter was closed. Just in time to give our Indian brothers the opportunity to leave for India. In fact, their visa had been granted until June 28.
The day was marked by the solemn Eucharistic concelebration presided over by Fr. Piero Trameri SCJ, Regional Vicar in Italy, on the 50th anniversary of his priestly ordination. Some others of our brothers were also celebrating with him the anniversary of their ordination: Fr. Enrico Frigerio SCJ, Fr. Ercole Ceriani SCJ, Fr. Mario Longoni SCJ remembered their 43rd anniversary of priesthood; Fr. John Chan Kunu SCJ the 20th anniversary of ordination and Fr. Sa-at Prathansantiphong SCJ the 9th anniversary of ordination.
Now the time has come for everyone to return to their own Region, to their respective Vicariate and community. It is the time to implement the decisions of the Chapter.
It is also time to thank the Lord for what we shared!
Always forward!
