Paulinia 19 July 2013 - After a good breakfast we welcomed our friends who had come from France, led by Br Emile Garat scj. Then all the members of the group were invited to reflect on the spirituality of Saint Michael Garicoits, our Founding Father, in his 150th death anniversary.
The theme was "Saint Michael Garicoits, a mystic of Incarnation", and the meditation was led by Fr Sebastián García scj, who invited the group to focus on these questions: 1. Introducing myself: who am I, what am I doing? 2. What are the signs of life and the signs of death present in my life? 3. What are the choices I am called to make in order to counteract the signs of death?
In the afternoon a trade unionist and a member of an Association caring for handicapped people, helped us to focus on the social issues of Brazil and the challenges people are meeting in their daily life.
We reflected on the fact that difficulties and problems are always present in all human realities and that the disciple of Jesus is called to insert into them the Gospel values.
Every Christian is called to be a credible and living sign of the Father’s compassion towards his children.
