Chiang Mai, 16 June - The day began with the celebration of the feast of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Eucharist was presided by Fr. Chan Kunu. In his reflection he emphasised on the significance of the Ecce Venio of the Heart of Jesus and the Ecce Ancilla of Mother Mary to be imitated in this Chapter for more involving and giving oneself.

July, 9 - This morning Fr Livio Borghetti SCJ returned to the Lord.

We the Vicariate held our annual retreat at Shallowford house from 2nd of October until 6th of October.

On the October 18, at the age of 55 years, Mrs. Kossreu Marguerite died. She was the mother of Br Kouassi Henri Joël SCJ, of the community of Adiapodoumé, Vicariate of Ivory Coast.

Chiang Mai June 25 - Sunday was spent outside the Jesuit center "The Seven Fountains", the place that hosts our Chapter. The capitulars lived a relaxing day: they went out to meet the brothers and in the Betharramite mission places.

June 13 - Fr Enrico, Fr Gustavo and Fr Chan reached the Betharramite parish of Khun Pai. Upon their arrival they were greeted by members of the group, “The Legion of Mary” who during a brief meeting asked many questions about the presence of Betharram in Thailand, concluding that the visit of the superior general makes them feel part of the Betharramite family.

“On the surface of the earth, we see wars, division, abuses, conflicts, personalisms, poverty, misery, anguish; but at the same time, we, apostles of the Sacred Heart, can do much with the Grace of God: we are like that grain of wheat that dies to give life!
