After a holiday, NEF returns with the news of our Family.

On Saturday, March 8, Fr. Crispín Villalba SCJ has been introduced as the new Parish Priest of the San José Parish in Asunción.

May 14th marked the 161st anniversary of the birth in heaven of Saint Michael Garicoïts, Founder of the Congregation of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Betharram.

San Bernardino (Paraguay) - The pre-Regional Chapter of the Fr. August Etchecopar Region took place on 4, 5 and 6 November. The laity and all the religious who wished to participate were invited to attend.

From 4 to 5 March, the Assembly of the Vicariate of Thailand and Vietnam took place at Ban Betharram, Chiang Mai, at the end of the canonical visit of the Superior General, Fr. Gustavo Agín SCJ.

“In our mission we need to constantly update ourselves, since our responses cannot be like recipes that are repeated, but must be the fruit of a profound evangelical discernment, carried out together, while we are on the journey. We need to entrust ourselves deeply to the action of the Holy Spirit who guides the Church without ceasing and to respond synodally to the challenges and cries of the present. Far from encouraging the immobility of a clericalist dogmatism or the anxious activism of a pastoral pragmatism, we should begin by accepting with realism this time of fragility, of inevitable confrontation, where we are faced not only with the sin of the world in a culture of death, but with the agonies of the Church itself, which have left deep wounds... that still seem open…
