This year the General Council of the Congregation wanted to draw attention to a Betharram reality  which has already entered the history of Africa: Ivory Coast where we are celebrating 50 years of presence this year.

After Thailand in 2008 and Ivory Coast in 2009, this year will celebrate the last shoot of the beautiful branch of Betharram: India.

Without doubt St Michael Garicoits ardently desired that Betharram would be a missionary congregation, ready to respond to the call of the Church and of the people of their time. We have begun to celebrate 150 years of the Betharram Mission in America: at present it is still very much alive, involved and renewed in its service and  greater commitment.

Ibarre, August 28 - To celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the 150th anniversary of the death of St. Michael Garicoïts, the traditional program has been slightly modified: masses at 7 a.m. (for those who live nearby) and 10,30 a.m; Vespers at 3 p.m. followed by the procession to the house of S. Michael; the Eucharistic adoration in the church from 12.30 to 14.30 was added to the program, followed by the recitation of the Rosary and Benediction with the Blessed Sacrament; the relics of Saint Michael were exposed in his native house throughout the day.

Wednesday, November 12, the community of Adiapodoume (Ivory Coast) welcomed the religious working in the parish sector.

18 December 2016 - Good news for our Thai vicariate. A busy day for Betharram Sampran community where the preparation for our 4 brothers to receive the ministry of Reader and Acolyte is going on.
