This Tuesday, August 16, Father Hervé novice master of the Region St. Michael Garicoits invited to the community of Bethlehem, Father Stéphane Milovitch guardian (superior) of the Franciscan community of the Church of the Nativity to give a lecture on the Franciscans, who have been in Holy Land for more than eight centuries.

The Superior General, Fr Gaspar Fernandez Perez, has been in Bethlehem since 19 of October to preach a retreat to the Carmelite Sisters, who invited him to share with them the spirituality of St. Michael Garicoïts.

Sunday, October 28, the Mother Church of Jerusalem officially started the year of Faith, launched by Pope Benedict XVI.

On 28 and 29 November the Assembly of the Holy Land Vicariate was held in Bethlehem. The members of the communities of Bethlehem and Nazareth-Zarqa gathered around the Regional Vicar for the Holy Land, Fr Pietro Felet and the  Regional Superior Fr Jean-Luc Morin, for an exchange of views  on the life of the Vicariate.

On December 25, the Nazareth community  (Frs Damiano Colleoni, Gaston Hialé and Philippe Hourcade) joined the religious of Bethlehem and the Regional Superior (Frs. Pietro Felet, Henry Lamasse, Luigi Speziale and Jean-Luc Morin) to celebrate Christmas in the birthplace of Christ.

On September 11th, the Plenary Session of the Catholic Ordinary of the Holy Land was held in our community of Bethlehem.

Friday, September 21, feast of St. Matthew, the ceremony of admission to the novitiate took place in the novitiate house of Bethlehem.

On the initiative of the Franciscan Custody of the Holy Land, on October 13 there was a pilgrimage to Capernaum "the city of Jesus."

As per  tradition on Easter Monday (April 1), a Holy Eucharist was celebrated at Emmaus Nicopolis. Preceded by a pilgrimage, it was presided over by the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Fouad Twal.

On Holy Thursday, April 21th, the regional novitiate community had the grace to attend the Chrism Mass and that of the institution of the Eucharist, which took place at Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem.
