« From the heart of Christ to the heart of the world »

1. PURPOSE

The purpose of this competition is to compose a logo identifying the 150th anniversary of the death of St Michael Garicoits (1863-2013) and accompanying all activities which will be taking place along the commemorative year (2013 - May 14th - 2014)
The author can propose, both for the design and the application of the logo, any creation satisfying the following requirements: 

• - Relevance to the objectives and the themes of the above-mentioned anniversary.
• -Relevance to the specific following theme: « From the heart of Christ to the heart of the world »

2. CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION

The competition is addressed to all young candidates aged 17 to 30 years of age.

4. SUBMISSION OF THE LOGO

The logo must be submitted on paper (minimum size 20 x 20 cm) or in a vector format .ai (for Illustrator) and CMYK (high quality colour) and can be sent in two different ways:

By post: in this case, the artwork (on paper, or on a cd-rom or a USB key) must be sent in a sealed envelop together with the filled and signed registration form (to be downloaded from the website of the congregation www.betharram.net), and sent to:

By email: in this case, the artwork together with the signed and scanned registration form (to be downloaded from the website of the congregation www.betharram.net) must be emailed to the following address: l logo@betharram.it.
Each participant or team can submit only one piece of  work. There are no registration fees.
A brief report explaining the conception of the artwork must be sent with the logo.

5. CLOSING DATE

The artworks must be received at the Generalate by the 14th of November 2012. The works which arrive after this date will not be considered.

6. COLLECTIVE PARTICIPATION

A collective participation is possible provided that all the participants of the group meet the above-mentioned requirements.
In case of a collective participation, it is necessary to send the list of all members of the group together with the artwork in a sealed envelope (or as an attached file by email). On this list, a member of the group must be indicated as the referent of the group and this referent must sign the registration form.

7. THE SELECTION COMMITTEE

The selection will be made by a committee specifically composed by Fr. Enrico Frigerio, vicar general, and the team in charge of the preparation of the anniversary.
The committee will check the conformity of the different projects with the conditions of the competition and, at its sole discretion, will declare the winning logo.
The winning logo will become the official symbol of the jubilee year of St Michael Garicoïts which will start on May 14th, 2013 and end on May 14th, 2014.
The other projects will be published in a special area of the website so to be seen by all.

8. PRIZE

The winner of the competition will participate at the World Youth Days which will take place in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in summer 2013. Board, lodging and food expenses will be borne by the congregation.
If the winning logo is composed by a collective team, the prize will be given to the referent of the group (or any other member of the group indicated by the referent).

9. PROPRIETY OF THE ARTWORKS

The winning project will become the exclusive propriety of the congregation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Betharram, which acquires all the proprietary rights of use, reproduction, registration, deposit, publication, without any limitation of time or space, through any means of reproduction, even by means which are still unkown so far. The creator of the logo commits himself to making no other use of the artwork submitted to the competition.
Any necessary change for the use of the winning logo will not require the agreement of the author.

10. RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCEPTANCE

The authors take all responsibility for the originality of their projects.
The committee takes no responsibility with regard to the submitted projects. The participation in the competition implies the unconditioned acceptance of all the provisions of the present announcing, and of all the standards determined by the laws and regulations established in this field.
