"This is our primary purpose which we must never lose sight of: that we who have joined the Society of the Sacred Heart by God’s goodness should live in closest harmony, not only, in what is special to the Society but also on those points which seem of least importance. Insist on this point with our brethren, I beseech you. If we help each other in this way, how heaven will help us! It is by relying, not on our own strength, but on that of holy obedience that we shall undertake everything with joy and that we shall achieve it successfully."
