Happy feast of the Sacred Heart and happy new year dedicated to Fr. Augusto Etchecopar
The community of Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) celebrated the solemnity of the Sacred Heart in tandem with the opening of the “Year of Fr Etchecopar”.

On 10 June, Mr Amilcare Tullio Manzolini, 90 years old, father of Fr Emilio Manzolini SCJ, of the community of Albavilla (Vicariate of Italy), has died.
Inauguration of the year dedicated to Fr. Etchecopar in the formation house of Sampran, Thailand
On May 30, the community of Sampran officially opened the year dedicated to Venerable Fr Augusto Etchecopar. It was a joyful event attended by young people in formation, formators and some benefactors.
Perpetual profession of Br. Mariano Surace SCJ
On May 29, in the formation house of Adrogué (Argentina), Br. Mariano Surace SCJ, during a solemn concelebration presided over by the Regional Superior, Fr. Daniel González SCJ (delegate of the Superior General), made his perpetual profession, surrendering himself forever to the Lord through the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience in our Religious Family of the Sacred Heart of Jesus of Betharram.

Belo Horizonte, May 30, 2021 - The community of the Scholasticate of the Region “Ven. Fr Auguste Etchecopar” officially celebrated the opening of the Year dedicated to Fr. Etchecopar.
Fr Phairote SCJ: Silver Jubilee of First Profession and Farewell celebration
On 28th of May 2021, English Vicariate gathered together to celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Fr Phairote SCJ at Sacred Heart community at Olton. The celebration began with Evening Prayer led by Br Gerard SCJ and it brought us together to pray for Fr Peter and his new ministry at Chiangmai our Mother House in Thailand. Various prayerful Intentions such as needs of the world , needs of our congregation were prayed.
Diaconate Ordination of Br. Akhil Joseph Thykkuttathil scj
On 29 May, in the chapel of the archbishop's house of Bangalore, Br. Akhil Joseph Thykkuttathil SCJ was ordained a deacon by Most. Rev. Peter Machado, Archbishop of Bangalore.
Beginning of the year dedicated to Fr. Auguste Etchecopar in Betharram
On May 30, Sunday of the Holy Trinity, in the Shrine of Our Lady of Betharram, the opening of the year dedicated to the Servant of God, Fr. Augusto Echecopar, our third Superior General, was celebrated during the Holy Mass.

On Sunday, May 30, Mrs. Celin Thomas, the grandmother of Fr Yesudas Kuttappassery SCJ, of the community of Bethlehem (Vicariate of Holy Land), died in Cochin (Kerala, India).
Year of Fr Etchecopar
So we wish the year opening to be a year of thanksgiving to God for the figure of God’s servant, Fr. Auguste Etchecopar and for his accomplishments for the Congregation.
Canonical visit to the Vicariate of Italy
The third “step" of the canonical visit of the Superior General to the Vicariate of Italy took place from 15 to 24 May.
A special celebration of the feast of St. Michael Garicoïts in Thailand
On May 12, in the chapel of Ban Betharram in Chiang Mai, our two young brothers Br. Nicolas Surasak Doohae SCJ and Br. John Weerapong Youhae SCJ renewed their vows in the hands of Fr. Luke Kriangsak Kitsakunwong SCJ, delegate of the Regional Superior, Fr. Enrico Frigerio SCJ.

Betharram May 14, 2021: Solemnity of St. Michael Garicoïts. Our brothers of the Vicariate of France-Spain celebrated the anniversary of the birth of our Founder in heaven, which took place on May 14, 1863, the feast of the Ascension.
In memoriam...
On May 14, Mrs. Maria Letícia De Paula Moreira, aged 47, returned to the Father's house. Mrs. Maria Letícia was sister of Fr. Francisco de Paula SCJ (from the community of Belo Horizonte, Parish Priest of the Parish “Sacred Heart of Jesus” in Nova Granada - Vicariate of Brazil).

On 10 April, the novices, in their canonical year of novitiate in Betharram, walked the road from Betharram to Igon, with their Novice Master, Fr. Gaspar Fernández Pérez SCJ, following the footsteps of our Father St. Michael Garicoits.

Ho Chi Minh City - On April 26, during a solemn concelebration, our brothers, Br. Peter Do Van HUNG SCJ and Br. Nguyen Van THANG SCJ made their first profession.

“All things bright and beautiful”
23rd April 2021, Solemnity of St. George, Patron of England. The SCJ community in Nottingham, UK, along with some of the Parishioners in two groups of 6 celebrated Earth Day (22nd April 2021) by walking 3.5 miles in the beautiful part of Clifton Grove near to the SCJ community. Our Regional Superior Fr. Enrico Frigerio SCJ was also present as he was visiting our community.
