Jubilee celebrations at Olton Friary

With joyful hearts we welcomed Bishop David Evans, auxiliary Bishop of Archdiocese of Birmingham at all our Mass here at Olton Friary on 31st of October 2021.

At 9.00 am, he celebrated Jubilee Mass of 40 years of the presence of Sacred Heart Community in Olton. Along with Bishop David Evens Fr Enrico Frigerio SCJ (Regional Superior), Parish Priest Fr. Biju Antony Panthalukkaran SCJ, Fr Austin Hughes SCJ, Fr Ted Simpson SCJ, Fr Dominic Innamorati SCJ and Br. Gerard Sutherland SCJ and Br. Liam Finucane SCJ were present.

Bishop was pleased to see our Betharramite presence here at Olton Friary. In all three mass on Sunday, various parish representatives of the Friary parish community thanked the Betharramite community for our missionary and pastoral zeal. He also gave us a thumbnail sketch of possible future developments and plans for the Friary Parish, in order to reflect in the future with parish community.

At 11 am Mass Bishop David blessed the couples who celebrated their significant years of their wedding of 2021 in the parish. We honored with Mass Bouquet and thank God for the blessings they have received & the witness they have given.

We thank God for the harvest this year at 6.00PM mass, and collected the food from parish and school in order to support the refugees from Afghanistan.
