"On Saturday 14 of July we listened with joy and gratitude to the testimony of three brothers of our family who now live in the care home: Br. Théodore Miguel SCJ, Fr. Jean Tapie SCJ and Fr Mirco Trusgnach SCJ.

News from the session…
From July 2 to 6, we reflected and shared on our consecration through Vows. Fr. Gaspar did it in an interesting way and helped us to understand the anthropological and spiritual aspects of the Evangelical Counsels. On Saturday, we visited the Betharram caves and in the evening, we joined the sisters of Bethlehem for the vespers. Lately, we welcomed three young people from Pau (Nelly, Yoan and Jacques) who will participate in Katiola's mission at the end of July. We listened to them and shared with them our experiences on how to live our faith in our different regions.

On 12th of July, our Sampran community held the Closing Ceremony of the Betharram Cup 5, 2018.

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July the new Diocese of Chiang Rai, erected by Pope Francis on 25 April 2018, welcomed its first bishop Mgr. Joseph Vuthilert Haelom.

This month the international formation session for the perpetual profession is underway. The 2017 General Chapter reminded us: “The Betharramite is convinced that the face of Jesus is to be contemplated in the Word of God and on the face of all those who are around us and towards whom we go. Thanks to the congregation, our vision has become more international and our cultural differences enrich us.” (Acts of XXVIIth General Chapter n. 12).
In memoriam...
On June 12, at Rho (Italy), died Mr. Gabriele Canavesi, brother of Fr Antonio Canavesi SCJ, of the community “Bel Ramo” of Albiate (Vicariate of Italy).
A photographic exhibition for the Betharramite mission in the Central African Republic
Saturday, June 30, in the exhibition hall of the Church of Santa Maria dei Miracoli in Rome, was held the inauguration of the photographic exhibition created by the photographer Vittore Buzzi entitled: "At the Black Heart of the World".
Visit to significant places
During the week from June 25th to 29th, the scholastics attending the session had the grace to visit Ibarre, Hosta, Oneix, Garris, Cambo and Saint-Palais, places where Saint Michael was born, grew up and was initiated to the life of faith.

Sunday, June 17, the "St Michael" Community and the Parish of Albavilla was decked out in festive decorations to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the priestly ordination of Fr. Piero Trameri SCJ, Regional Vicar in Italy, and the 40th anniversary of Fr Paolo Vesentini, Parish Priest of Albavilla.

3 June - Parish priest for five years in the parish of Olton Friary, Fr. Wilfred left his new parish of Clifton (Nottingham) for an afternoon to come over to Olton and meet the parishioners who expressed their gratitude for the service he had done.

The New Parish of Langhirano (Parma) celebrated the month of May welcoming the statue of Our Lady of Betharram into the city and taking it on a pilgrimage around the 12 communities of the pastoral unity.

150th anniversary of the transverberation of the heart of St Myriam of Jesus Crucified
Pau, 24 May 2018 - The Congregation celebrated the extraordinary event of the 150th anniversary of the transverberation of the heart of St Myriam of Jesus Crucified at the "St Michel" community of Pau, which took place on May 24, 1868 in the hermitage "Our Lady of the Mount Carml”. A triduum of preparation helped highlight the great significance of this event.

First visit of Fr. Enrico Frigerio SCJ, Regional Superior, in the Vicariate of Thailand
