30th anniversary of Ban Betharram
On Saturday July 29 and Sunday 30, the Ban Betharram Seminary in Sampran (Thailand) celebrated the 30th anniversary of its foundation. Ban Betharram was inaugurated in 1987.
The festive days were full of events. On the days before July 29, some football matches were organized and many young seminarians and religious were involved.
On Saturday 29, a solemn Mass was celebrated in the chapel of the seminary, presided by H. E. Cardinal Michael Michai Kitbunchu, Emeritus Cardinal of Bangkok, the same Cardinal who inaugurated the seminary 30 years ago.
Many priests, many Betharramite religious coming from different communities of Thailand and more that 500 faithful joined the cardinal for the celebration.
In his homily, the Emeritus Cardinal recalled the day of the inauguration. He thanked the congregation and the fathers for the work they have done over the past 30 years in the mission of Thailand and in the field of youth education.
The Eucharist was followed by some joyful events and the dinner.
On Sunday 30, in the morning, the Eucharistic celebration closed the festivities.
