A "Betharramite" jubilee for the Italian laity
From 2 to 5 June there was a pilgrimage of the Italian laity to Betharram and to Pibrac.
The pilgrimage, organized by the Vicariate of Italy for the Betharramite Jubilee, attracted about twenty people guided by Fr Mario Longoni scj.
Some of the richest experiences, were the Eucharist celebrated in the "oratory" next to the room where St. Michael Garicoits died and the celebration for the Feast of the Sacred Heart at the foot of the urn containing the body of St. Michael, whose liturgy was conducted in many languages.
In these four days, the pilgrims visited the shrine at Lourdes, and passed through the Holy Door opened by the Diocese of Toulouse at the Shrine of St. Germaine, in the Betharramite parish of Pibrac, where the Regional Superior Fr. Jean-Luc Morin scj presided over a solemn celebration.
This is the feed-back of some of the pilgrims: "These special moments will remain in our memory for ever"; "This experience has left an indelible mark in our heart."
